I mean, that’s technically true. If someone handed me 5 million, I could invest 4.5 million and live pretty comfortably for 5 to 10 years off the remaining 500k. In that time, the 4.5 million in the stock market would probably grow to around 9 million over 10 years. That’s why it’s difficult to get rich but easy to get richer.

There’s a bit more nuance to it than home cooked meals being healthy and eating out being unhealthy.

If you think groceries are expensive now, that’s going to get a lot worse when we start maintaining grocery store inventories with cargo bikes.

I’m aware of one case where a man lost a ton of weight by fasting for several months and maybe taking some supplements but that was done under medical supervision. It can definitely be done but it’s dangerous.

Working out has a lot of positive health benefits but it plays just a tiny role in weight loss. It’s virtually all about diet.

If you stop eating entirely for 2 months you might just barely make it.

Rich people don’t hoard money. You don’t get rich by doing that. Most of their wealth is invested - the money is put back into circulation. What they do hoard is wealth but that mostly means things that can be easily sold and turned into cash but it’s not cash they’re hoarding.

I’m not rich by any means but of my net-worth only about 5th is cash. Rest is tied into my house and investments. Keeping lots of money in the bank is a really bad financial strategy.
