And you can go to plex settings and disable all the love channels, discover, friend activity, etc that everyone complains about. Make it a simple plex server again.

But then how will you know how much they love the smell of their own farts?

*only for external streaming.
You can cut it off from the internet and stream in your house locally for free still.
End from any external streaming perspective, they are hosting a repository with your connection and port info, so your external friends can connect without you needing to manually configure or update their settings when you make a local change. Plus they are hosting stream relays for those that are unable to make a direct connection. To me, seems fair they’d ask for payment for that service.
He’s totally fine… when he has his billions and complete unlimited financial safety, and never has to have a worry about spending ever again. Take all that away and his monster comes back out.
J/k, once corrupted, always corrupted.

Do you mean the stuff you can literally turn off in settings? Discover, other streaming services, live channels, friend activity… all that can be turned right off.
Did you dump plex after paying for it because you couldn’t turn off settings??

Again, what do you find trash? Every core feature i need works perfectly fine with plex.

See, I don’t understand that at all from you. How have they lost their way exactly? Th9jga that you can turn off in settings piss9ng you off? Are you unable to stream your content with your plex pass that you already own? Can others not stream from you? Does your content Metadata not scrape properly? Explain you comment because it seems like you’re part of the problem hating them for the sake of hating them. Getting “on the train” of hate as it were.

I’m sticking with plex personally. I have a lifetime plex pass already so no one else needs a pass to stream from my server. Aka, this changes nothing for me or my users.
I use CachyOS BeeTeeDubs…

So far, CachyOS has been great for me. KDE Plasma pimped out looks great also.

Anyone have suggestions for parental controls on linux? Mainly, to block logins after bedtime, or to limit time on the system.

Yea, roblox and fortnite are the two hold backs for me switching my kids PCs since the anti cheat doesn’t apparently work on Linux. I hadn’t heard of Sober though. Hope it works out!
Ctrl + R and start typing the command, it’ll come up, press enter. Im just more lazy because I know there are still faster ways.
Edit: instead of hitting enter, keep pressing ctrl + R to cycle through history commands that contain what you typed in
He treats the Whitehouse like hos own personal house. Is that normal for presidents?
Yep, VPN will allow you to be on the same local network, and they’re only pay walling remote play.
She needs to update her app probably, it works fine for my wife on my server
Plex has pay walled FREE servers streaming to FREE clients only.
If you have a plex watch pass (for client) you’re good and can stream from any server. If you have a plex pass (for server) any one can stream from your server. But you have to have one or the other.
Because its more polished, has more platforms for clients to run on, and can be remotely shared with a simple account login and no configuration required. To name a few.
