I love my Ally X deck. That’s why I didn’t buy a Thor. I can run emulators on that. I’m afraid to take it anywhere. And yeah, it feels more like the weight of a musical instrument than a handheld device.

It’s healthy to have that core value imo. I’m happy enough to work around that vs the algorithms we have normalized.

Lol me too!! After I looked I wasn’t too interested. Also crazy you mentioned Thor, that’s the device I don’t need that I can’t stop thinking about.

I think if a products budget is mostly spent on marketing it might be worth a miss.

If this means the device is usuable and reasonably secure for 5 years, this is fine.

It precisely means that is not going to be the case.

The phone will stop getting security updates in less than 3 years. It will still be a perfectly good phone by then. The battery won’t even have degraded out of service life.

Any Arch/Debian. If you’re picking Distros based on which UI they package, you’re doing your self dirty by ignoring options that might be more what you want. You can always swap out the UI. It’s not a core part of most distros.

I cannot fathom why they would go this route after Archive.org was targetted and so thoroughly lost. They could have hosted it on a different site.
