Set three traps, got two cars in one and this orange girl in another. Drop off and pick up for the TNR the next day. We decided to keep all three girls a few days for recovery.
Then we get the call that the orange girl had two kids that the people were able to fetch and used a security camera to confirm that she was the mom.
Fortunately these two kids are young, blue eyes young, but not too young. They can eat wet food and mom is still lactating a little bit.
We released the other two today but now are temporarily stuck with orange mom and kid. The kids might go to the finders once fully weaned or might get put into the adoption system. Mom will eventually be rereleased.
Wait three orange girls?! Isn’t that like super ultra rare?
The two kids are boys. But orange girls are rare. They make up about 25% of orange cats.
But everything here is crazier than a few orange girls. My personal cat collection is 10 cats. Six of them are orange girls. I probably have the largest collection of orange girls on the East coast. Here are five of them:
