The problem I see is that if they get too idealistic/absolutist, they will end up just like those examples you mentioned (Brave, TorBrowser, Librewolf); less successful.

I’m using Organic Maps. Is that open source? I know that they don’t collect any data.

The Microsoft one does concern me. The Google features are optional to the user, but not the MS ones.

Funny. MS used to ridicule Google for being an “advertising company”. Probably said in jealousy since they’re no different now.

When it comes to the environment they have no competition. I’m still with them.

With DuckDuckGo we get zero trees planted. It’s outside the EU too so although they have a relationship with US companies I hope that there are some protections around data transfer.

I set up SAMBA so that I don’t have to keep a copy of the content on my computer. I also don’t need an application. But, setting up the SAMBA server requires a few terminal commands and editing a text file.

He used the house that a woman was murdered in to record an album and was glorifying the murder by keeping artefacts and naming the house “Le Pig”, in the spirit of something her murderer also wrote about the victim.

He had been claiming not to have known about it and to have been horrified to learn the truth, but given the name that he gave the house and the fact that he took the infamous door with him when he left (where her blood was used by her killer to write the word “Pig”) it’s very hard to believe him.

Very distressing for her family, which is the part that bothers me most.

He is a total creep however, which has marred my enjoyment of any music connected to him.
