I’m not a fan that Mapillary is ran by Meta though. SK it’s not a project I’m comfortable contributing or using sadly. I know storing such a large library of images isn’t an easy task, so I I’m not sure what the answer would be.

Squad works fine for me on Linux. Performance is no worse than it is on windows. I need to add a caveat that I haven’t tried the new UE 5 builđs of the game yet, so I can’t comment in that.

It goes far beyond just having pricey clothing, kids these days are bullied for not spending money in Fortnite. https://partner.sciencenorway.no/bullying-children-and-adolescents-computer-games/fear-being-bullied-children-pay-to-become-popular-in-video-games/2307469
It’s bad, even in countries like the UK where they have dress codes to try and address it, you’ll still he picked in for not having the right accessories.
Most recommended cameras are from China unfortunately. While I would prefer to not support them economically, they seem fine security wise.
No Hikvision from Amazon, good shout as I was looking at some of them there.
Oh, that might prove a bit difficult on a Linux machine. I guess I’ll have to borrow my room mates computer :P
Thanks for the shout about Frigate’s documentation. There’s a lot of good information on there!

Sure, last time I tried having multiple (and uninstalling) multiple DEs on one machine was probably 10 or so years ago, it just left me with a bad taste in my mouth so I stopped doing it.
HereIAm@lemmy.worldto KDE@lemmy.kde.social•Plasma 6.4: IMO, THE BEST Linux desktop environment right now1·2 months agoI’m not too much of a newbie either. My home server is nixos, it’s just not a paradigm I want for my daily use computer :P
HereIAm@lemmy.worldto KDE@lemmy.kde.social•Plasma 6.4: IMO, THE BEST Linux desktop environment right now41·2 months agoI quite like KDE whenever I’ve used it. But I’ve broken so many systems by fucking around a bit too much. So I’m on Pop OS which uses a themed Gnome DE. I keep hearing it’s easy to install different a different DE, but how do you do it safely and still keep compatibility with your distros updates?
HereIAm@lemmy.worldto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•What's your favourite OS that does not use systemd?312·2 months agoAll I hear about it is that it doesn’t follow the Unix philosophy of a program should do one thing and do it well. And while it does seem quite large and do a lot of things, out of all the times I have broken my system, systemd has never been to blame.
Edit: deleted duplicate comment.

HereIAm@lemmy.worldto Linux@programming.dev•Xlibre, a new fork of the X.org X11 server, announced52·2 months agoI don’t need a project to explicitly say they are DEI inclusive, I generally don’t care who is contributing, but when you explicitly state you are against it in the README of your project that is just wild. The only divide I’m increasing by saying I don’t support or respect people who choose to, and makes it very clear they are, excluding people based on diversity is a divide they’ve created for themselves. Especially when it’s a fucking open source software project, like wtf does DEI have to do with it that the owner has to bring it up to begin with if not to intentionally hurt someone.
HereIAm@lemmy.worldto Linux@programming.dev•Xlibre, a new fork of the X.org X11 server, announced92·2 months agoWhat? You might want to think about what you said for like 2 more seconds. Why on earth would I not hate or even help someone who aligns themselves with a Nazi? You can absolutely hate the creation of a tool based on the political reasons it is being created.
HereIAm@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Advice on moving my Spotify library to NavidromeEnglish2·3 months agoI’ve used Zotify. It downloads from Spotify directly in .ogg format. It fails a bit here and there, so requires you to watch that everything actually downloaded, but it beats any random YouTube quality video other programs would find otherwise.
The browser can’t do push to talk though, right?
Mm, that is unfortunate! I personally keep a Windows install around for VR as well, nothing on Linux runs the Quest 3 quite as well as Virtual Desktop.
Yeah I don’t understand peoples obsession with continuous development. I understand there’s more competition now, but counter-strike 1.6 stood on it’s own legs for a decade without meaningful updates. If you find a new game that appeals to you more, then go play that. Same with Early Access, if you don’t want to buy an incomplete game, don’t buy early access titles. Of course it would be nice if developers communicated any development breaks or pauses, but they don’t really owe you anything.
