Exactly. Same reaction I have with vids that try to push me to “watch to the end”.

That’s exactly what makes the proposed regulation so absurd. If you’re not completely tech illiterate, you’re gonna use whatever fork of your FOSS software of choice to keep communicating securely. This regulation is just a very obvious data grab for the whatsapp users that are too lazy to switch.

Is ChromeOS even that successful? Hasn’t it been merged with Android already? Seems to me nobody wants “snackable” OSs…
I got the answer in a crosspost I did: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1967099
It was reported as bug but got confirmed as intended behavior. Nothing anyone can do short of editing the system icon theme
Man I’m glad I got done with the “I want to meet new people” part of my life before social platforms became inevitable. As far as I know nowadays it’s either friends or privacy. Can’t have both
Syndicate Wars. I honestly haven’t seen anyone emulate that gameplay as well as SW did it since then.
For anyone interested. I got this information from a comment in a crosspost:
This behavior seems to be intended and won’t get fixed
My GTK Theme is already set to “Breeze”.
And my Firefox Theme is set to “System”.
Thanks though.
If @Frellwit is right, this seems to be intended and not a bug :(

Changing the value in about:config had no effect. Thanks anyway though!
Disabling vertical tabs didn’t help. But thanks for trying
Resolution: — → WONTFIX
ouch…
I’m surprised all other GTK apps manage to use the plasma theme defaults. But it gives me enough to do some more research. Thank you very much!
Yup, does that break something in the newest update?
Thank you for replying, but that just adds a standalone titlebar with just a title and the controls, while moving all the other functions like the address input to a regular toolbar, as the options suggests. I’d like to keep all the functions and the titlebar controls in one single titlebar, but with the OS control buttons, as it used to be before the last Firefox update.

That Google is attacking custom ROMs should tell you anything you need to know. Definitely continue using ROMs as long as possible and pray to holy GNU that linux on mobile will attain day to day usability until that fails. It’s actually looking pretty promising on that front!

Although your suggestion might be more lightweight
You live in a bubble my friend. Not everyone will move to tor. Not even close. Linux has reached 3% in the steam statistics recently. Remove the deck users and you’ll be lucky if it hits 1%. Of those 1% not even everyone will be able to give up the regular web. I’m sure there will be a surge in alternative browsing prorocols, but not enough to change the status quo.
