Yep. There is or was a giant one near my parents. Whenever it was blooming my dad would go over and take pictures. He was always so excited because it bloomed so infrequently.
Is this a night blooming cereus?

The box fan may be noisy, but something that big is going to have massive surface area and provide a lot of filtration.
And potentially also a banishing.
But where do you get your supply? That’s the creepy question.
Fra-gee-lay, must be Italian!
Yes, when I was young we had an outdoor cat for like 8-10 years. She had litter after litter of kittens (my parents should have gotten her spayed, or course, but it just didn’t happen). One day she didn’t come home, which was unusual for her. So, we went looking for her and called out to her. We eventually gave up for the night. We didn’t see her the next day, and couldn’t find her. A few days later when still looking for her, we spotted her. There were a couple of wooden lots between us and the next neighbor. She was on their porch sitting on their patio furniture. We took her home and gave her love and food. The next day she was gone. She was back at the neighbor’s. We just left her because it was clear she was where she wanted to be. She knew how to get back to my house, but she was already home–it just wasn’t mine. It was sad, but we weren’t going to restrain her. The neighbors didn’t mind. So, she got to retire.
ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Be Wholesome@lemmy.world•Wholesome ending and probably a great laugh !1·2 months agoSometimes kids pull things out of mid air that you would never expect them to say and don’t know from where they came. Sometimes those things are wise, are prophetic, are really weird, or are just really funny. If you don’t raise an eyebrow sometimes, you’re not enjoying your time with those kids enough. My kids are wise, prophetic, weird, and funny. Everyone around them gets a kick out of the stuff they say.
Moving through the grief is different than deciding to take on another pet. You do what you want with your heart, and I’ll do what I want with mine, thanks.
It’s not really about the proportion. The rest you have right. Things (good or bad) may happen as a result of your behavior (good or bad). Those things are natural consequences. We talk about it a lot in the context of punishing behavior, but natural consequences can also reinforce behavior. Of course, if we design those consequences, they’re no longer natural.

How does a wearing a shirt help me beat them? Does it pass legislation? Does it organize protests? Does it unionize or strike?
It sounds like you want me to endanger myself for no good reason instead of doing something meaningful. Give me a break. I’m not cowing. I’m simply not taking unnecessary risks THAT WILL DO NOTHING.
Living in Florida with two youngins, I can’t risk it. Some unpermitted asshat will blow me away without so much as a word. My wife has a banned books shirt and an Alt NPS shirt, and I worry. I have some science shirts and a Reading Rainbow (unofficial) books shirt, and I’m just waiting for a confrontation. It’s as far as I can risk.
¿Por que no los dos? Culnt. When you go along with and believe everything your twat leader says.
Voter roll purges, where and how many polling places, misinformation mailers and calls, super PACs, electoral college, etc. This election, and most every other election, was totally rigged. They suppress voting in huge ways. They hold it on a Tuesday and it’s not a national holiday. Even if your job doesn’t outright stop you from going, a lot of people can’t afford to take that time and go vote. All of this is well documented and carefully orchestrated. Yes, people voted for Trump, but if shit wasn’t rigged he would never even have been on the ballot. Yes, Americans are to blame for this outcome, but it’s not just the voters. This outcome is decades in the making. They just haven’t been nearly so effective in elections past.
