Since we are not making jokes on feddit (they might upset the mods) it must be LKML. They’re known to spend their days fooling around.

IT’S ON THE INTERNET! IT MUST BE TRUE!
You will do as you’re told!
The kernel group is not your next corner charity and it’s members are highly qualified devs - all of them knowing where they are and the majority paid very well for their work by their employers. Also, it’s not that Thorvalds ever arbitrarily picked on someone or kept on picking on anyone because of personal antipathy as assholes use to do. Any of these events was caused by a specific fuckup by the very person that got addresses and they all did the same thing (fuck up, refuse to fix,. let someone else take the resulting damage) they were explicitely warned not to do. I do have quite a lot of understanding for individual fuckups - they just happen under the right combination of shitty circumstances but I’d be the last one to complain if I’d get F-bombed if I’d be the one to blame. Interestingly none of the addressants complained either. It’s always been third parties/media to scandalize these for their own reasons.
As a modest proposal, let’s just kill anyone who disagrees. These troglodytes had long enough time to get on speed with the world and human progress cannot further afford individuals unwilling to adapt.
Renewal! Progress! Electrification!

Catholicism was one of its’ early implementations it did not become dominant before the Roman Empire declared it the industry standard 300 years later.

I don’t think Linus Thorvalds is either very stylish or really an asshole. He might be a bit short fused, but not an asshole.
Hmm. They have some surprisingly good documentation and user forums for a bunch of kids just fooling around. Very much unlike Ubuntu. I’ve learned years ago that Arch has good HOWTOs and solutions to common Linux problems that you won’t easily find elsewhere, while you better avoid Ubuntu’s forums unless you want to pick the one correct answer out of hundreds of posts guessing blindly at trivial questions. I have been using Debian for 25 years, so I don’t have a horse in that race, it’s just what I noticed.

The low output quality and slowliness of the process finally got me to abandon the idea. I ripped maybe a dozen movies or less and none of these still are in my collection. All of them replaced by way better copies. OTOH video codecs were not what they are today and a recent VHS rip might look a lot better at smaller file sizes. Idk about audio quality but mine was abyssmal; absolutely no competition to DVD audio.

The HOLIX community might be your place of salvation.
HOLIX, the operating system for those holier than thou. The true and only OS. Come to HOLIX!
Not as funny as it seems - the error message “lp is on fire” really exists. Originally these bulky old tractor-fed matrix printers got really hot and would catch fire. That’s history, but in the early 2000s I experienced a 1990s SUN laser printer that had similar ambitions. Luckily it usually would blow some fuses before it got hot enough.
Don’t worry. Systemd will absorb them all. One to find them, in darkness to bind them…

Guess, you’ll have to live with MINIX. That one at least does exist. Or did. Idk if still is maintained.
So it was called CITRIX, SERVVS TERMINALIS and lived happily ever after.
Funny thing is that the original concept by Bell Labs was called MULTIX but was found too complicated so the redesign was named UNIX.
Let us lead the world towards the true belief. By sword and wirecutter. Let the heathens be converted to the true protocol or disconnected. Progress! Renewal! Electrification!
