On what android version are you? I had no problems setting up adaptable storage on LineageOS 19 (Android 12).
Adaptable storage also encrypts the SD card btw

What if the key was in a book? It would have to be protected by free-speech, which makes it uncensorable.
What if the key contents were used as hex values to make a flag? Would you censor a flag too?
No such thing as “proprietary encryption keys” exist.
Yeah, also most sites can’t be downgraded to HTTP due to HSTS.

Yeah, but the FUTO group did that to avoid possible forks being made with ads, trackers and malware, like what happened to Newpipe.
They do accept contributions in the form of plugins, which I think is a very clever way of doing it, while keeping the project closed to bad actors.
I’ve personally already downloaded it. Pretty excited to see this project succeed!

What you’re looking for is an open source MDM.
You can use “Hide my apps” from LSPosed, and the Magisk “DenyList” to prevent (most) apps from detecting root.
