I think another factor for some is that it’s a community-driven project rather than a product with corporate backing. This is also a big reason why some use Debian over Ubuntu LTS

1·3 months agoJust use the Cinnamon desktop for a while, figure out what you want it to do which it doesn’t. Ricing is fun sometimes but the point is to actually be able to use your computer in the way that you want

7·1 year agoThink I use FLauncher, gets rid of ads on the home screen, and Smarttube for youtube. Instead of Netflix etc, I host my own plex server on my gaming pc for whenever I wanna watch some linux ISOs
been a while since I used kde & wayland, but I remember there being something in the Plasma settings -
random redditor said “Go under “KDE Settings->Applications->Legacy X11 App Support” and click to allow keylogging for all keyboard keys”, I think this was it. Had discord (running in xwayland) accepting my global hotkeys with no problems
2001 baby here with a home ubuntu server running Plex + Jellyfin, *arr suite, qbittorrent and slskd in docker, and a few TB on my favourite private trackers. I’m an outlier for sure, I don’t know anyone else my age that even knows what 1337x is
