I got no idea what 24.04 is about, it would help if you add more context. Also no idea what pkcon is, so I’m assuming you’re talking about some particular distro.

Wait, xfce is now running on Wayland?😱
I spent 4 years with and external monitor on my desk that I couldn’t use because it was absolutely painful to find a consistent way to make the 2 different DPIs of the screens work in a way that made sense. Only now with proper Wayland can I enjoy and use it. Yeah there’s hacks, but I’d rather let it be dead in a corner than try to work around it. It was a bunch of black screen, inconsitencies between the order I’d plug the external screen, when i did it (before or after logging in), etc… I can’t even imagine all the other pain points about hdr, variable or high refresh rates, etc.
Wayland is great.
Had to wait a bunch of time and tried many times before and it wasn’t ready for my needs, but now it is and I’m happy. God knows how many rants I’ve done on fedi about it not working for a lot of time on plasma and weird bugs everwhere.
I’ve been forced onto a shit mac book with this stupid OS for the first time in my life and spend 90% of the tine interacting with it basically trying to work around how bad window management and many other things are. Hacks and custom apps and changing options to try to make sense of it. I’m in this hell hole for 2 months now. I still have no idea or feeling for how or when windows behave or if they even become maximized or not. I hate it all.
The worst offender is opening the system settings and it’s a stupid window that can’t be maximized in anyway whatsoever and just sits there looking like an horrendous thing being frustrating.
But after using it I’ve finally understood where so many bad decisions gnome for example is stealing their ideas from.
Put some fake ears and tail on it.
Never played any other game besides Bloodstained. Loved it.
But but, it trickles down… Right? 🥹
Trickle down economics at work. We all know most open source devs are super rich and receive a lot of that money. That’s the only reason they can work so much on open source 😌
oh man, that unfortunate graphic with the CDNA letters really made me read it 4 times as CONA… bad amd, bad.
I’m pretty sure you have that curve wrong.
I’ve used Linux for years and never in my life have I seen anything crash or close because of a oom killer. It’s myth for me that it exists. Me looking at my firefox occupying 6GB of the 8GB ram and opening intellij so it becomes full and swap is on 3GB.
They’re not the same animal in the U2 best of cover are they?
It’s not suspicious. It’s been talked about for years. People know exactly what the phone number is used for. Easy discoverability, quick and seamless onboarding of new users by providing a way to bootstrap their social graph, and it being very similar to the process of the other biggest player that people just understand. And spam prevention. The phones are not leaked or used for anything else. The other alternatives exist and you are welcome to onboard the people you want onto them if you think it’s simpler.
The code is open, if you don’t trust other people and can’t read the code to understand then hire someone you trust to validate the claims and assure you. But spreading FUD and saying it’s suspicious is not productive to anyone.
Session is the one with broken security.
You should go properly read the requests from law enforcement they have received and exactly what information it contains. It’s public. Then evaluate if it matters for yur threat model. Security doesn’t exist in a vaccum.
Me an intellectual: just have and alias for lx which points to eza.
