Asking chatgpt can be super useful to get info. I just don’t understand why people don’t try to verify what it says before just re-posting like fact.
Nope. Never figured it out
Because instead they just outright deny the claim and pay nothing. It also works against them if people start to realize they can get cheaper care elsewhere.
I really want a poncho/ruana style thing to wear casually, but I just cannot seem to find one with a style that really tickles my fancy. I’ll wrap random blankets around me shawl sans brooch style, but they’re not really the style I’d want to go wear out and about.
He thinks the president should hire/fire anyone they want, but they dislike the people the president has been choosing.
All? Unlikely. But some? A lot harder to say. You’re asking for an opinion-based prediction at this point. I think they’ll probably eventually try to get the most outspoken critics, but I also think that’s a good time to not go silent. You get organized.
It’s been fairly blatant for a while now. The seig heil is coming out now that they feel they’ve won. The goal is for the US to fall this time.
It’s honestly fairly level headed for anyone. Make sure your loved ones aren’t making dramatic and life-altering changes without being sure they want it? Seems reasonable to me. Especially for a topic that is largely a muddled mystery for the average person.
Hell, it can filter out tech people too. I’m a programmer by trade, but I almost dipped on lemmy because the onboarding is confusing enough. Like, I obviously (mostly) figured it out, but I did consider going “eh fuck it” and dipping. The site is ultimately a luxury and not a requirement, so effort or confusion required to get all started up is also something that’ll drive me to consider it not all worth it for some social media I’m not even sure I want to be a part of yet.
I need a reminder of what hexbear is about. I recall something… off.
Short answer is “propaganda”. News agencies against immigration will pretty regularly swap between “illegal immigrants”, “immigrants”, and <insert current target race here> as if they’re practically interchangable to build whatever narrative they want, and also to slowly build an association between ‘people of <insert race>’, ‘being a drain on society’, and ‘being here illegally’ to get the average person to side with them.
2 years to maybe do something, 4 years maybe to maybe do something better.
I think this is the big contention point. In a world without a need for jobs, AI would be a neat alternative method of art generation, and a fascinating advancement of technology as a whole…
but UBI is not yet real and jobs still need to be had. Without some form of life-securement for those who provided the art to be trained off of, we’re just using tech to really fuck people over. It’s definitely a moral grey area - very dark grey.
And actions/motions needed to be exaggerated to fully come across.
I feel you, man. Like, I appreciate what Linux is for, but the Linux content here is extremely blind to the average user’s use-case. It makes it hard to take suggestions and input seriously.
I agree with your premise, but we’re in a really fucked civilization right now where there’s a class of “elite” people who can make decisions that negatively affect the literal lives of millions without worry. We’re not in a fair or stable civilization right now, which is why so many people are on team “nah I hope this guy gets away with it”.
I remember doing similar. I would intentionally kill my browser/computer without gracefully shutting down the browser. Literally everything else I would go and shut down normally, browser needed to be crashed.
Creating something that damages nearby electronics? Yeah, that’s probably not going to fly. It really doesn’t matter if it only damages things that actively film/photograph you. Like, it’d be illegal if I walked up and hammered every camera that photographed me too.
