Can you elaborate? Most people will not end up as 1% rich, as implied by the name. The average working person is in risk of destitution. We are all much much closer to homelessness than we are to immense wealth.

Years of being unable to afford preventative care, and insurance coverage denial for helpful procedures, mean the average person will die sooner. The lifespan of Americans is much lower, despite higher costs of healthcare, when compared against peer countries.

I bet there’s more plastic in poorer people as well.

I was commenting on the frightening amount of plastic in our oceans, but I suppose sharks and alligators would get even more platic from kayaks and surf boards or whatever.

I was just reading this fantasy story, where a wizard used some kind of ritual as he was dying, to put his consciousness in a puppet. His mind being outside his body quickly drove him insane, as this little wooden man went on to challenge the will of gods.

There’s gunna be some kids from some desperate situations, just trying to make money for their destitute families for any number of reasons.

The 14 year old, overworked and tired, will be called into the managers office.

“We’ve noticed you’ve been working really hard. You know, there’s a promotion on offer. Comes with a substantial pay increase, might be able to help out mom and dad.” The manager walks around behind them.

“We have lots of competition here, though.” The door locks, the child feels hands on their shoulders.

“We need to see what you’re willing to do to come out ahead.”

If situations like this happens with adults, it will absolutely happen with children.

A pinnacle of science, a wonder of engineering, that we will never get to see in our lifetimes. Instead, we get to see Taiwan get nuked or something, I don’t know. I don’t follow the news much, I only know I’m disappointed.

Not sure the specifics, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were countries interested in a next generation fighter jet, and is capable of buying from either the US or China.
