Floppies read just fine today with usb drives. I read and write floppies for a bunch of weird, old computers at work just fine. I expect that sata hardware will still be pretty accessible in 30 years even if it isn’t standard on future PCs.

Reading the news is a necessary chore. I often regret it and love getting away from it.
Reading a book is soul soothing.
Not sure if it will help but sometimes charging overnight on a 5W charger can get it going if the battery is just really dead. Probably the easiest way to ensure you’re getting 5W is a USB A to C cable connected to a PC or laptop. If you have an older wallwart with a USB A port it’s probably 5W charging as well. Could be worth a shot before sending it back.
The only voice function I use is setting timers and I get so frustrated Google wants me to unlock my phone to do so. I am using my voice because my hands are busy. So annoying!
It’s been almost 20 years since I felt patriotic. I mostly just comfort the dog and hope the yahoos don’t accidentally burn my house down.
I do use it, probably one shoot or so a month. out of every 100 pictures I probably have one great one and 10 others that would be good with editing but I never go back and edit them. A phone is probably better for most people most of the time but there are definitely cases where it wont do the job.
I initially bought it when I worked over night shifts and wanted a night time hobby on the weekends, so I wanted to do deep space photography. I finally got on days soon after and am not up as late anymore so mostly take it on hikes, or birding and rarely around the city.
I rarely talk about it unless I show a picture that people ask “how’d you take that?” and I have to explain. I’ve bought a few lenses in 5 years but think I’m set on those. Maybe in another 5 years I’ll upgrade the body. For me it’s been a worthwhile investment.
It must strain a lot of brain cells parroting ol musky.
Multiple backup computers. In fact I’m a bit peeved my oldest backup computer broke.
Yes dedicated cameras are still around. They aren’t going away anytime soon. I really like my Fuji camera.
Canon makes great optics and decent hardware but is pretty bad at everything else.
Luna likes to play in boxes. She was raised by cats after all.
I use hpux everyday. Mostly it still runs what it needs to run and the hardware for the most part is a tank so you don’t have to think about it.
When it breaks it’s the most infuriating thing in the world. All the hardware is bespoke and obsolete, old unix is maddening coming from modern Linux, it’s a nightmare but kind of fun at the same time. My only hope that HP will open source it at the end of the year.
This is the best. An ex gf and I were going on a short 2 hour road trip the day after Harry Potter 7 came out. We stayed up alternating reading chapters to each other.
The next day in the car her and our friend both read aloud from where we left off. We got stuck in traffic for an extra 2-3 hours but time flew by.
It’s one of my favorite memories.
I don’t think I ever made it past the werewolf castle level without cheats.
Oh man such a great game. Great couch co-op.
Human penis, wolf testicles and scrotum.
but username checks out.
Way different stance than 8 years ago.
Every time I try kde I get pissed off that every time I make a settings change I have to hit apply as well. Gnome I just change the settings and close the window. Plus I can never figure out how to switch workspaces. I like super+scroll wheel or swiping on a laptop.
