I’m disheartened. As a Jordanian/Palestinian/American, it’s hard to live in a country where the government and the general populace openly and unabashedly wants you and your whole family to die. Seeing people justify the atrocities committed by the Israeli government and military is just disappointing more than anything.

I really do love America, and I don’t take for granted how lucky my family has been to even have the opportunity to migrate here (I know plenty of people who would do anything to live here!) But it hurts when America doesn’t love you back.

Aside from big things like my partner and my family, being outside or in nature always gives me that type of relief. Going on walks or hikes, noticing all the little things, the birds, the bugs, the leaves, the grass, the trees, the dirt, the gravel, just sitting down and watching people go by, as small as it sounds it really helps me center myself and put things into perspective.

I’ve been out of the custom ROM scene for a while, is Cyanogenmod still a thing? that shit was like magic on my Galaxy S4. I remember it getting really slow like a few months into having it only because of how damn bloated the OS was before flashing CM onto there.

Serj Tankian has been all over the place! Since System of a Down disbanded (essentially), he’s done a couple rock albums, a classical album, a jazz album, has written a few movie scores, even featured in a Tech N9ne song. He’s done it all relatively well too! Guy’s super impressive and a big inspiration to me musically.

i am tired

Kinda dumb but some of the “obscure humor” (for a lack of a better term) subreddits I kinda miss, like r/comedyheaven, r/skamteboard, r/oldpeoplefacebook, etc. The meme communities I’ve found on the fediverse, while totally fine, don’t really scratch the same itch for me lol.

I actually just ended my subscription since I wasn’t watching their stuff enough 😅 I generally get a kick out of improv so I really enjoy Game Changer and Make Some Noise!
