Scatterbrained and friendly optimist. Always happy to give my (unasked for) opinion :)
Pardon my rambling and broken English, I know I often sound like an alien trying to impersonate a human being.

Ohmygoshthat’ssofriggincuuuuuuute!!!
This was in the beginning of May as well. It looked really gorgeous, but some of the flowers (tulips especially) were already wilting.
I think a week or so earlier would’ve been even nicer, though the weather was really good that day.
Nice! It reminds me of the concrete elephants of Almere.
It’s cute because it’s not my screen door :)

Thelsim@sh.itjust.worksto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?2·3 months agoIt was just a basic guideline being taught to me back then. And I guess it’s mainly for cruising speeds. You might want to stick with a lower gear for accelerating. There are of course all kinds of exceptions. And NL is basically flat, so I don’t know about hills :)
But the km/h list gives me something to fall back on when in doubt. Driving is stressful enough for me as it is.
Thelsim@sh.itjust.worksto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?21·3 months agoI took my driving lessons with a manual, but have been driving automatic for over a decade now.
Whenever I do need to drive a manual, I usually need a while to get used to it again. At those moments I make use of the guidelines that were taught to me by my driving instructor:- Is for getting the car going and getting in or out of a parking spot.
- Is for speeds up to 25 km/h
- Is for speeds up to 45 km/h
- Is for speeds up to 75 km/h
- Is for anything beyond
It’s a simple helper that matches most of the common speed zones in the Netherlands (30, 50, 80). From what I can quickly read, the 80 zone is 90 in Romania, so it should still work?
Anyway, don’t worry too much. It is also nice not having to drive at all if it comes down to that, your boyfriend’s family sounds nice :)
Enjoy your trip!

I was going to complain about the lack of burning giraffes, but then realized it’s a study.
Thankfully the painting does live up to its name :)

So I’d end up having to swim at least a couple of kilometers. Considering the current sea temperatures, I’d probably die of hypothermia before I could reach the shore.

I ended up with them because they seem to take privacy very seriously.
Thelsim@sh.itjust.worksto New Communities@lemmy.world•FuckYourHeadlights - A community for people to organise and vent about ridiculously bright lightsEnglish7·6 months agoOh god yes, especially now that all of them use led lights. Mine still uses an old-fashioned light, which is great when you’re alone on the road because your night vision can deal with the rest. But I turn completely blind when an oncoming bike shines one of those led-lights directly in my face.
I’ve already ran off the path twice so far because I couldn’t see where I was cycling (it was at a bicycle path through the park without street lights)

My very first self drawn image that I shared online. It was for the inktober challenge. It’s nothing special, but I always kept my doodles to myself until then.
I really appreciate the positive feedback I received back then. It motivated me to complete the rest of the month :)
Well… you did kind of set the tone with all the frownies :( Maybe balance it out with some smileys as well? You can never have enough of those :)
Anyways, yes, you go and enjoy those tea parties. I’ll think of you next time I’m having one of my own :)
You are adorable.
I hope you’ll get invited to tons of tea parties :)
I did a bit of extra reading and I made a mistake. The Utrecht library is 132 years old, but this building is exactly 100 years old.
I really need to read more thoroughly.
Found him! :)
