We all live in this world, yes. Society is unavoidable. However, you can choose to what extent you engage with it. There is a minimum, stop using tech ~ go out into the world and meet people, create physical things etc. – nobody will stop you when you act with integrity and love.

First thing that comes to my mind is: You have met the person, thus connected, then worked together remotely.

That is a physical presence. How much physical presence is required for a good working relationship differs from individual to ~; having personally experienced a coworker is invaluable in my opinion.

Learn a trade? Do you like working with wood, metal, electronics? Gardening? Construction?

The best advice I can add to what has been given already is to just try out a few things and feel if something resonates. You can ask companies to go along for a day to see how the work is done to learn, help them for a day without pay to learn, for instance.

Does take some initiative and social skills, can lead to a nice career.

All about balance. Working from home is such an improvement from past times. Face to face contact with your peers should not be underestimated though - very valuable.

There is no such thing as learning a concept more than once. There is learning it, then remembering if you forgot.

Try and look ahead. Do not get stuck on the negative, envision a positive outcome and find the path.

It would appear there are some problems of getting stuck in negativity in this sub and about the subject in general. No system is perfect, correct. The state of the technology is more advanced than how people describe it online.

A likely scenario is that a lot of tasks can be performed or prepared by AI systems, to be checked and finalized by people down the line.

Currently there are still a lot of dragons hoarding wealth, citizens just accepting life and the grind. Like you said, some companies are staying to pay for that hubris, let us hope that trend keeps up!

The positive outcome of this all may be that in some time, many more people will be able to become artists, scientists, entertainers – improve quality of life!

The whole premise is strange, too. AI does not ‘take’ jobs. It frees up people from menial tasks, giving them time to spend their time differently. Perhaps a good time to change the capitalist status quo? ;)
