Windows 13 is going to have first completely uncooperative AI. You ask him to open system setting and it says “the fuck’s good for me, eh?”. You tell him to download Winamp and it tells you “what the fuck is that shit? it does even collect your data! fuck you, i’m not dowloading that, the gall!” or you tell him to turn itself off and it tells you “nah, i’m good” or if you ask to switch to manual it tells you “get fucked, you ain’t getting that”.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Over the past ~20 years, Google became the de facto entry point for learning new skills and information. Google also sucks now. This is a really big problem.
2·22 days agowhat’s baffling is that there are people who seriously argue that education is a commodity or even luxury and not a basic human right.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•If video games actually determined our real world behavior, we wouldn't be violent, we would be obsessed with powerwashing and all have CDLs.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Bosses really want AI to work, because they really, really want to fire you.
1·27 days agowell, that’s corps for ya. that’s why people work in startups and scam corps out of ridiculous sums of money for some bullshit solutions wrapped around in shiny presentations. in most cases the only place where everybody go out of their way to “get things done” is on paper.

5·27 days agono. pushing harder is counterproductive under most circumstances. unless it is an emergency security situation - there is no good reason to crunch your team.

26·28 days agoFacts. I had five requests for “AI workforce optimization strategies” last quarter. People paying big bucks to find out their bright vision of the future is fucking dead end over and over again is kinda fascinating. There are ways to implement AI to improve specific parts of the workflow. Busywork mostly but nevertheless - it can work. However, none of it works in tandem with saving money on having fewer people on the team. The only real tangible benefit of implementing AI tools at this point is that your team members burn out a bit slower.

There was a movie with one of the Mighty Boosh folks that featured characters communicating exclusively like apes - it’s called AAAAARGGHH or something like that. It’s technically a regular british screwball kitchen sink dramedy but with a gimmick
