I live to apologize to her.
I live to apologize to her.
I’ll see if I can make it work sometime.
Glad it made you smile! Also glad I’m not the only one who gets reprimanded for laying out an arm incorrectly!
He was a synonym for rich guy for awhile. And was even on WWE. So, depends how you define cool.
Related story, basically the hardest I laughed during covid.
Being a good Vancouverite, when those convoy fucks wanted to parade around and honk at hospitals, hundreds or thousands of us with bikes got in their way and kept them away from the hospitals.
Okay, so we’re blocking an arterial and some convoy fuck is screaming at us about how, in his words, “we’ve got to protest smarter.” He then finally realizes we have been politely letting non convoy cars through the lane next to him, so floors the accelerator and aims for that lane. But, he didn’t shoulder check and slammed right into a car in that lane in front of a cop. So for the next however long we got to point and laugh while advising him about the merits of shoulder checking and how he needed to drive smarter.
Gotta love when an asshole causes a 100% fault car crash with no injuries.
I wonder if one of you is switching the words around from dead hang?
A dead hang is when you hold yourself from a chinup bar.
Stabilizing might not be quite the right word I’m looking for. But for example, trying to connect a new wifi card etc. Or when one program updates but this causes instability and you have to undo the update. Even from the handful of linux wizards I know, their battle stories with updates or new configurations are enough to terrify someone.
I think you’re missing the point a bit.
Both BuyCanadian and BuyEuropean are about supporting their respective economies as they are boycotting America’s.
For Canada, we’re looking at a recession (brought on by our “ally”) so people are trying to help fellow Canadians out as things get rough and people lose jobs.
While I support FOSS and recommend them in threads etc I fully understand why they don’t meet all the goals of those movements. (That being said, I think one of the most rocking counter punches would be EU investment in stabilizing Linux enough to make it a feasible alternative to Windows/Apple for casual and corporate users, solid shot to 2 of the magnificent 7.)
As so many have said, amazing work, thanks for sharing! I’ve saved this for future reference, may look into the scratching the post for my elderly lady.
First, thank you!
There’s a website that’s kind of helpful:
Basically, digital stuff is probably the easiest. And as others have pointed out, visiting helps!
I’m not talking about the suburbs. I live by Commercial drive, I have neighbours with backyard chickens.
Edit: For those who don’t know Vancouver, Commercial drive is about a 15 minute bike ride from the heart of downtown.
Sure but the point is that there isn’t a disease sweeping through cattle herds killing most of them etc.
Which is happening to flocks of birds, including poultry.
We have a lot of backyard chicken farms in Vancouver.
There isn’t a massive bovine flu killing huge swathes of flocks…
Ahhhh, gotchya, sorry missed that!
Though, I think tax cuts are fine to spur demand (especially targeted at lower income levels) though I’m a little hesitant about cutting spending. I’m in the camp that feels deficit spending is okay, maybe even desirable for things like recessions and wars. Spending cuts usually act as a drag on growth so if your goal is to heat up an economy, cutting taxes AND spending seems counter productive…
Oh, if the impetus is just to cut taxes, well I don’t think that’s particularly ideal.
If you’re cutting taxes in the hopes of Laffer striking again, fine but that’s supposed to be revenue generating.
If you’re cutting taxes for the sake of lower taxes, then you need to have some services in mind that are worth less than the value of the tax cuts, not just in terms of dollars but in terms of what they do. For example, you could cut SNAP benefits but yeah, most would be against that because feeding poor kids is pretty popular.
I don’t think these are unpopular because people don’t know economics so much as there aren’t many services they’d give up for marginally lower taxes.
Fair but I’m not sure what the point of spending cuts is beyond ,shrinking the state, cooling down an overheated economy or reducing a deficit. What am I missing?
A lot of government spending is super popular (think entitlements, healthcare, infrastructure etc.) I have an econ degree (admittedly, not particularly used as I’m now a dev) but I’m still not seeing a particular impetus…
Hope your mom gets better, sounds like a super shitty day though.
(Champagne problems warning) Was goddamn great until I pulled a calf muscle playing soccer tonight and now probably can’t ski on Friday and Monday, despite our mountains FINALLY getting a nice dump.
Admittedly, my problems are nothing compared to the children who mined the cobalt for my phone but godfuckingdamnit.
Awwww, that sounds almost magical to have watched, really glad for all of you.
