  • That’s conceptually backward to how our justice system (on paper) determines guilt. It has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Luigi did it. Nobody else needs to be convicted or even accused for Luigi to be determined to be innocent.

And there are some good reasons to doubt from what we’ve seen as the public. The cops said they found his backpack in NY but then also found him with his backpack. The pictures don’t quite match. It doesn’t make sense for him to keep incriminating evidence on him in a McDonald’s. There’s a lot about it that stinks.

  • The execs take perverse delight in the ways they rob the workers of their wealth, make them suffer, and leave them to die. They are cruel and oppressive. They aren’t simply lap dogs, and not all of then are beholden to hire ups. Many of them like Bezos and Musk are the ones in charge.

If you work at a company, did you elect the execs of that company? Do you have any way within the system of the company to hold said execs in check when they abuse their power? Did you vote for the pay scale of the company? Did you vote on benefits packages?

The answer to all these is almost certainly no. The execs are the business equivalent of dictators. They are tyrants, even if “benevolent” or controlled by a higher up tyrant.

And we see the same thing happen on a country level on the world stage. Big powers will topple or influence small countries and install a dictator that is beholden to the big power. That doesn’t make the dictator any less of a dictator just because they themselves are owned.

  • As /u/comfy said, we already know enough. We know that cops can break encryption on your phone, get everything from your social media accounts with full cooperation of the site owners, they can track your phone even if it is off, they can track your payment methods for your ebike get away vehicle to the CVS you bought your prepaid card with cash at, they can track you with the thousands of cameras they have everywhere, they can use gait identification to ID you even if you have gloves on and a mask on, they can plaster your face all over the internet, use thermal vision drones to find you in some field.

The police are militarized and have their surveillance tentacles in every crack and crevices they can. We know this already, and there is no value that such a trial would provide for that.
