Fair point, the OP is a bit over the top. I agree, It’s not all religions.

I can point to multiple denominations of religious people that literally say that being gay or trans is forbidden, yet I can not find one Atheistic group that does the same. To act like religion doesn’t do it’s part in perpetuating this kind of hate is foolish.
I’m not saying all religion is bad or worthless or anything, just that it definitely contributes to this problem. I’m also not saying that all religions are the same, its mostly just the Abrahamic ones that seem to perpetuate the hate more than others.
They exist, but let’s not act like religion isn’t playing a huge role in the perpetuation of trans hate. If a person says that they dislike trans people, 9/10 times they are going to be religious. A lot of other cases will stem from a person coming from a religious family, or culture, if they aren’t religious themselves.
It’s not a requirement to hate gay and trans people to be an atheist, but it is a requirement to at least act like you do to be a member of many different religious denominations.
It’s really weird to make a blanket statement like that because different people have very different salaries and expenses. Especially in reference to the US where these things heavily depend on the state a person resides in.
That’s a horrible outlook, and I’m sorry you’ve been driven to that point. I understand, as I have been there before.
Now that I’m older, I realize that pulling the lever is the right thing to do as much as it hurts. I don’t think letting apathy win and watching the government go full Fash was the correct choice, but I don’t blame you, or others who decided the same. The system isn’t going to collapse, though, it’s just going to get a lot shittier for awhile.
Works for now…
They have stated they will be slowly removing v2 extensions for users instead of removing them all at once. So, they just haven’t gotten to you yet. You will have to switch to use ublock lite, and it’s not as good.
Even if it does work for now, idk why you would want to support the company trying to get rid of necessary extensions and remove any sense of ownership of your own browser, like Google is doing.
Just switch to FireFox and get it over with already.
Lawyers will be honest or dishonest, just depending on what’s best for the person who is paying them. Their jobs are dependent on getting good outcomes for their clients, so they can most definitely be trusted if you are the one paying them.
Hey shrub, FWIW I think the world is better with people like you in it. Take care of yourself, please, and I hope life treats you as well as it can. If you ever need someone to talk to or anything, this internet stranger’s door is always open.
Yea, I’m a millenial, and I remember mostly only interacting with old Macintosh LCs in elementary school, and then Windows 95 and up after that. My uncle had an old Tandy computer running DOS, that I remember at least learning how to run a game on, but by the time I was interacting with a computer, regularly, Windows 95 and AOL were the most common thing.
Usenet is awesome, but the fact that you have to pay for Usenet access defeats the main purpose of pirating for a lot of people.
Don’t get me wrong, it is super cheap(60$-100$/year?) and worth it to pay for Usenet from what I understand, but as a poor kid that discovered torrenting out of necessity, paying for Usenet back then would’ve been out of the question. I imagine a lot of Gen Z kids feel the same about it at this point in their lives.
That heel toe technique stuff is black magic to me as a simple guitar player. I play in a metal band, and our drummer does that double heel toe technique, and it just looks like it shouldn’t work, but it does somehow. Even being able to do it with a single foot version is insane.
I love jazz and have nothing but respect for Jazz drummers and musicians, in general. The insane amount of knowledge and practice required to play odd time signatures and be able to improvise is not lost on me.
Are you unaware of the existence of electronic drum kits?
There’s also just the fact that some people have rooms that are separated far enough from other residences for this to bother anyone. Most cities even have specific band practice spaces for rent, outside of residential areas.
Its weird to just assume that people have no consideration of others.
All you gotta do is play some Metal. I would imagine that the continuous double bass drums in stuff like death metal should probably get to marathon distance step count pretty quickly.
It’d be interesting to see one of these things on someone like Tomas Haake from Meshuggah.
Gartska’s main band is a progressive metal band but the drummer is a jazz drummer through and through. Just look up some of his workshops and playthroughs if you just want to see simply good drumming. Most progressive metal is basically heavy jazz.
I understand its different strokes for different folks and all, and appreciate you giving them a chance and responding.
Buddy Rich was good for his time and influential and all that, but the instrument has evolved so far since then.
Check out Matt Gartska and a band called Animals as Leaders for a great modern jazz drummer.
Ooh that’s a good one. All of Vonnegut’s stories have stuck with me. The first one I read was called Deadeye Dick, which I checked out from the library by chance because the title was funny to immature teenaged me. That sent me down the rabbit hole to read a bunch of other novels by him.
I know it’s a joke, but Dr. Peterson has never said anything as profound as the root comment. He can definitely say some things that are as long winded as that comment, but his point would be about women being better off in the kitchen, or something about how pronouns are going to end civilization, or some garbage like that.
I don’t think it’s in kids sizes, they just call it an ‘internet kids’ sweatshirt, and the wording makes it seem that way. They go up to like 3XL.
Maybe it’s Midwestern US kid sizes.
Thats some proper parenting right there. It sounds like you are raising an upstanding citizen.
Marklar yea, marklar.
