Different reasons for different people.
Some because they expect to benefit from it - they expect to be a part of the autocracy.
Some because they’re angry and stupid and all they know is that people they hate are unhappy about it, so it must be a good thing.
Some because they can’t wrap their heads around it - they can’t believe that it’s really happening.
Some because they think they’re powerless to stop it.
And some because they just want to watch the world burn.
I just stumbled across easily my favorite series of the season - Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express
It’s like anime espresso - the small crew (the entire cast and crew credits fit on a single page) somehow crams more story, character development and laugh out loud moments into its 3½ minute episodes than most full length series can manage.
For anyone interested in watching it, start with the prequel, Milky☆Highway, which introduces Makina and Chiharu, and the pacing and the dense, multi-layered dialogue that contribute to cramming so much deliciousness into so little space.
And I’d say that Yohei Kameyama is definitely someone to watch. I can only imagine what they could accomplish with more run-time and a bigger budget.
