Yeah, it’s not all bad. Although I think just like Reddit, your experience is largely influenced by the communities in your feed. Seeing the general outlook in here makes me realise I could stand to spend more time in communities like this than I have been.

There’s actually a lot of good about this place, even if it’s not sunshine and rainbows all the time or perfect.

I do think it could be a little busier though. A lot of communities could do with more posters and conversation in the comments in general. Like, there’s still a lot of room for more activity around here without it getting overcrowded and not seeing regulars anymore.

That said, there’s actually more than enough good content and people, to make it worth coming back here tomorrow, particularly in the non politics and news cycle side of things here. And I agree that it does feel more international here than Reddit, even if 90% of the news still revolves around the USA anyway lol.

And then other parts of it are just infuriating. Like how if you try to post song lyrics or something, the markdown just mashes every sentence together in one line for some reason. So you have to know the secret code just to make gdamn new lines. I actually pressed enter to go to a new line 5 times in this paragraph but it comes out all jumbled together after posting.

As far as I’m concerned, I shouldn’t need to know some special formatting just for return to work properly.

Season 3 was fucked from day 1

Kinda glad that I haven’t got that far then lol. Although one day I’d like to catch up with season 3 and Sinners of the System just for completion sake. But I’m definitely not as amped about it as I was with season 1 anymore, so I’ll get to it some time. It’s just not exactly high priority.

And especially if she’s really strong and swings a sword like it’s made of feathers.

I don’t actually watch a lot of anime but reading this question, my immediate answer is PSYCHO-PASS. Season 1 is a masterpiece of a story regardless of the medium IMO. Philip K. Dick tier.

Then they carried on with it instead of stopping there. The movie was ok, season 2 was meh and the villain was a bit much. And I haven’t even been able to bring myself to watch any other content from it. Not sure I’d want to because I prefer to pretend that sometimes it’s about art and not always about money and that they stopped after telling the story they wanted to tell in season 1 without turning it into a franchise.

Ugh, I actually get angry thinking of the couple of times I ruined a good friendship thanks to friends and people around me pulling the “oooh, you two liiike each other” bullshit and convincing me to make a move against my better judgement.

I know that ‘Christians’ exist. Not sure I’ve ever met any Christians though.

Boredwalk are one of the few good follows on Facebook. I love them. Are they on Bluesky? Might be worth looking at my account there more often for.

I love walking with earphones in for this very reason (apart from listening to music of course). Sometimes I’ll actually hear someone trying to talk to me and I’ll just ignore it and keep walking.

The Hop Harrigan 1946 serial and the Congo Bill 1948 serial. I found a Hop Harrigan torrent that sat at 0% on my list without even downloading metadata for about two years before I gave up. And I couldn’t find Congo Bill anywhere. Something tells me that Congo Bill would be pretty problematic and full of insulting stereotypes these days though.

Side note: I knew a hippie woman years ago that fed her weed plants menstrual blood. Shared a joint with her and it was some good shit too.

The problem is that most of the ‘spam’ comes from official things like websites that you’ve signed up to and didn’t realise would also include dumb fkn emails periodically. And they don’t always do it right away either. I’ve had emails suddenly start arriving from somewhere that I signed up to like a year before.

Personally, my spam mitigation is to have one email address for signing up to shit with. Then these assholes can email me until they’re blue in the face and I don’t care because the only time I ever visit that inbox is for verification. And then I have another email address for personal use that never gets used because who uses email for personal use these days?

In conclusion. Email is for signing up to things and collecting trash that I’ll never look at.

We just need to get clergy on board and telling their congregations that the magic man under the ground is trying to conquer the realm of Earth and expand hell (that’s why it’s getting so hot), and that the magic man in the sky would really appreciate if everyone would stop making the magic man under the ground’s job so easy.

We need to stop using big sciencey words like “climate”, “change”, “global”, “warming”, “weather”, “melting”, “ice” etc. and use words that they understand like “demons”, “hell”, “bad juju” etc.

Gotta love the grumpy defiant toddler thing that Trump has going for him there.
