Uhm, isn’t bazzite practically what the author is asking for?
Start a family.
If they tried to alter or destroy the files there is a good chance it would be found out, which would escalate the situation to a whole different level.
While I can’t wait for the AI bubble to pop I am also quite relaxed about the cultural consequences of the wide availability of the tools. The market will sort this out quite efficiently: either the slop does provide value, or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t, people won’t pay for it and it will fade into obscurity. If it does, we’ve found a new application for the technology and increased productivity by a small amount.
It’s not the technology itself I find so annoying, but rather the relentless push by the invested companies to make it far more ubiquitous than it deserves to be. But that money will run out, rather soon I hope.
I’ve already given up on FPV freestyle as a hobby, since it’s getting ever heavier regulated and the authorities have very little understanding or tolerance when it comes to bending the rules. It was fun while it lasted.
That’s pretty much my sentiment. LLMs do have some limited utility but the potential market is comparatively small.
This is an absolutely massive bubble and watching it pop will be quite spectacular.
I believe the market will sort this out. AI slop will only stay relevant in the domain of scammers and spammers, where demand doesn’t count.
Oh good yes, pleeeaaaase! Every time I read something talking about LLMs as if they are sentient I cringe. It’s so stupid.
People keep trying to attribute planning to what can be much more plausibly explained by idiocy. Trump is not “strategically” dozing the rose garden to distract from the real news, he’s just a tasteless brutish moron.
All for one more venture funding round before the company folds.
I hate how the article anthropomorphosizes the LLM output. Apparently journalists still don’t understand what the technology is.
As a software engineer who uses AI agents daily, let me tell you: now is as good a time as any to learn to code. LLMs won’t replace any developers.
Oof, this will immediately chill the market for image models. Disney has a good case here and all the resources in the world to fight it to the bitter end. If they set a legal precedent it might be game over for pretty much all of LLM. Welp, it was fun while it lasted.
It’s sad, but whenever I read news about Gnome I just think “why?”. KDE just seems better managed with a better plan for sustainable development.
You don’t need much intelligence to dish out extreme violence.
Is is stupid on an incomprehensible level. If it’s just a massive grift and never gets implemented it would be the best case scenario!
AGI = A guy instead
Mixing the valid point of “ultimately someone has to pay” with the idiocy of “crypto-anarchism” doesn’t really help this piece. Next.
