Just wait until you try a long layover.
Just wait until you try a long layover.
There’s never been a time where a sane person would use a Windows server for example
I dunno if it was sane, but my employer has been deploying Windows servers in industrial environments where the “operator” are technicians (non-IT) without access to remote support. With a Windows interface at least they are usually able to navigate the system and troubleshoot when needed without Linux experience (which they never have).
Shame they didn’t mention grandmothers, they can be the most patient listening to ramblings about Arch.
If you’ve already procreated, you have less to lose.
Nor about bringing back their CLI :/
LibreOffice is good. Very good even. I just wish Calc always had a 1-to-1 feature parity with Excel for it’s formulas, it would make it so much easier to collaborate on a spreadsheet with others. I think I had to wait a few years on e.g. XLOOKUP.
I hope the next pope revives one of the classic pope names, there are so many good ones to choose from. Pelagius, Viligius, Damasus… I can’t take any more Pauls, Benedicts, Pius, Innocents, Clements etc.
no negative change in my post-laundry output
What a beautiful phrase, I’m totally gonna nick the term post-laundry output

Same, and they might even have properly adjusted headlights, but as soon as they tilt up (e.g. due to a speed bump), the flashing lights make it look like they are sending me a light signal. Usually takes a few seconds until I realise they just hit a speed bump.
Maybe she didn’t want to though.
Nah, I think if you’re on e.g. Debian oldstable you could still be on Gnome 3. That’s not “long dead”.
He sounds like a decent human being.
In my experience people who really use excel are always going to need excel
That’s my experience too, unfortunately. LibreOffice is lagging too far behind O365 on features that you can reliably cooperate on spreadsheets across applications. Something like e.g. XLOOKUP is a fairly recent addition in Calc.
If you like Kubuntu because of apt and KDE, don’t be afraid of going Debian with KDE next time.
I love everything about Pop!_OS. Except the name, that I cannot stand.
Nice, which brand/model? I have a scale for making pour-over coffee that has 0.1g precision, but I seriously doubt my scale is actually accurate to 0.1g.
I run Debian at home because “Microsoft evil”, but I kinda think the Windows 10 image we use at work is alright. I work at a Forbes 500 company with a huuuge IT department, so I’m guessing they’ve done well at setting up group policies or something to make a de-cluttered experience for us. At least I never see any ads or Bing bullshit, and the Start menu works like I expect from ye old days. I could never make W10 work just as sleek at home, so I gave up and moved to Linux.
That said, most developers here still use a local Linux VM for actual developing lol.
What are you doing, step-grandmom?
Question: how good do you have to be at drawing to have a successful wank to your own art?
