reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If your happiness is derived from your enjoyment of a false (i.e. fictional) stories, is that truely happiness, or is that technically a delusion?1·3 hours agoagain this does not apply to what i was saying, loving someone doesnt cost you. Frankly i cant tell how you are interpreting me, so i dont know how to clarify what i mean.
reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If your happiness is derived from your enjoyment of a false (i.e. fictional) stories, is that truely happiness, or is that technically a delusion?1·21 hours agowith mtg cards, they drain your money so that kind of works too. But rescuing animals or learning something doesnt apply here because it doesnt take anything from you (unless you are kind of insane). Or rather they dont cost too much in terms of invaluable resources like your mental or physical health, just your time which you have to give to everything anyway. Stuff like drugs diminish you being able to enjoy other things and drain your health and relationships. Even if you keep those under control, it still takes something from you, just a bit less.
Though anything can become an addiction too, but if positive things become that then you might have other underlying issues rather than those things themselves causing it.
reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If your happiness is derived from your enjoyment of a false (i.e. fictional) stories, is that truely happiness, or is that technically a delusion?2·1 day agoimo, false happiness is something that takes more than it gives. So drugs is good example, maybe they make you feel good but eventually they stop doing that and start taking from you.
reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If your happiness is derived from your enjoyment of a false (i.e. fictional) stories, is that truely happiness, or is that technically a delusion?3·1 day agodepends how you are enjoying them. If you are delusional and think the stories are real or something, I guess its just that its pretty fragile happiness which might cause harm to maintain it. If you are just enjoying the experiencing those stories then there is nothing negative in that. Ultimately its about how much good does something bring to your life.
Who cares about how it looks to others, unless you are causing harm.
i lived my early childhood at 90s and i kind of have same. Though i also have it about 80s or almost any decade before this current shitshow.
reksas@sopuli.xyzto Linux@programming.dev•Here's why Linux market share isn't going to skyrocket anytime soon2·2 months agoat least bassite seems quite easy to use for someone who would use it just for browsing and games. Actually it feels a bit too custodial as i cant even install portmaster due to its writeonly nature. So you cant do complex stuff even if you wanted to. It makes it very safe too, since if its awful for user to do that, malware couldnt do anything at all.
If you dont want to do anything complex with linux and dont need to use microsoft products, its easier to use than windows imo since there is no corporate bullshit you have to deal with. Though you still need to learn the basics just like when you start using windows for first time. Then again, maybe i’m overestimating the abilities of average user who doesnt really know anything about computers.
reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If no government shall bare arms against its own citizens. Then what is happening in LA?2·2 months agopeople in government are citizens but not every citizen is in government. But every citizen should have equal right and opportunity to be in the government.
reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If no government shall bare arms against its own citizens. Then what is happening in LA?5·2 months agocitizens are the government though. if they are not, its not democratic country.
Still, there should be no need to even threaten citizens with violence and if there is, it should be resolved mutually instead of just oppressing the people into submission.
what the hell is wrong with people, first they claim holocaust never happened and now they deny what is literally happening right now. Or at least try to downplay it which is ultimately same in today’s world of everything getting buried under million other things
reksas@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why don't people like Melon Tusk get tired of the shit they have to pull through literally every day ? I mean doesn't the guilt of bad decisions pull them down enough like the rest of us ?4·3 months agoThey have no guilt. They likely see rest of us as weak and stupid, worthy only of being exploited.
Anything that gets reduced, banned, restricted or anything like that will be available for the rich as it always has been. So most definitely the rich will be eating beef and endangered species like before. You can get anything with money and influence in this world. Why would this be any different?
They feel they can afford incompetence because they know so many people dont have a choice anyway. Any microsoft locked institution for example. If that isnt at least a little evil I dont know what is.
it would feel less evil if win11 wasnt so full of awful and downgraded features.
can’t tell such things nowdays at all. that is why i use /j or /s to clarify if needed
but why? more users for linux means better linux support for everything
I thought they specifically planned to end the security updates to force people to use win11
reksas@sopuli.xyzto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•To join Facebook these days, one must record a video selfieEnglish6·3 months agoI made an account over decade ago, never really used it even back then because I was suspicious even then. Then i tried logging in years after that and they demanded passport or some other identification to even let me log in.
So i sent them a picture i drew myself, i would post it here but i dont think i have the file anymore. It was basically like a mockup passport with picture of a clown and a stamp with picture of middle finger. I hoped they would just ban my account or something since that is about best I can hope. They would never abide by gdpr request and even if they say they did there is no way to know if they actually did.
So they dont want people using remote desktop? What would they even get out of that, just making windows even worse to use. I guess its one less thing to maintain. Well, windows becoming worse is good for linux userbase so this is kind of good news in a way.
assuming the freak is even capable of wanting such things or even understanding why someone would want it.
