Huh. First time I think an article is too nuanced… I mean the answer to the headline is pretty straightforward. We can see all around the world how it’s always the fascist parties who are able to benefit directly from AI in their campaigning. They can leverage AI to spread lots of fake pictures of immigrants looking bad. And other kinds of nasty propaganda. Works superb for this “Flood the zone” strategy… On the losing end of it will be parties concerned with factual information or working on bringing the country forwards.

Sanders probably doesn’t need to bother. Nobody will cheer for him if he does an AI video of him as a king in a fighter jet dumping poo on his opponents. That just works if your target audience is idiots with fascist tendencies. So there’s little use in generative AI for politicians like him.

And then things like job loss come on top if your voters are regular workers. Not sure if this kind of thinking is very pronounced in the USA, though. And since AI is an investment bubble, it currently attracts money which in parts ends up in the American economy. So I’m not sure if people necessarily think it’s bad for economy.

Both “parties” will continue to benefit from capitalism, phony science, grifting, imperialism/colonialism, “AI”, etc. This is why they exist. They’re “leaders” of a system that’s incapable of actual progress.

Humanity and the planet will continue to lose.
